See it on a wall
A mustard house with a vivid red door among tropical plants; cobalt shadows fall diagonally across the wall, suggesting late-afternoon sun through a flowering tree.
Why this work
The choice to paint shadow as colour — cobalt, not grey — is the lesson of Van Gogh and Gauguin’s Arles period, here reinterpreted under tropical light. The red door anchors the whole canvas the way a single warm note anchors a painting.
