Two stick-and-triangle Warli figures, one with a flower headdress and one with a drum, face each other inside concentric saw-tooth borders on a circular terracotta plate.

Why this work

Warli is a 2,500-year-old Maharashtra tribal tradition, painted by women on mud walls with rice paste to bless weddings and harvests. Carrying it onto a terracotta plate keeps it what it has always been: living, functional, everyday ritual art rather than a museum object.
